Sol Caribe - All inclusive or room only?

Hi there,

We are planning a couple nights at the Sol Caribe out in Sian Kaan, near Punta Allen. They offer an all-inclusive rate of 135$ per person, which includes tax, or a 95$ room only rate (tax not included). We are thinking of going with the room only rate since it seems inconceivable that we would spend the difference (about $150$)) on food and booze each day. We realize there aren't a lot of food options out there, though there is a restaurant at Sol Caribe, also at Cseiak, and some places in Punta Allen I think. Is it possible that because this place is so far away that food costs will be that inflated? Does anyone have suggestions?

Thanks,
Amy

I would do the room only option. You'll be much closer to Punta Allen than the area near Cesiak. Lobster dinners can be had in Punta Allen for around $20usd. Another place to eat is Xamach Dos - just south of the Boca Paila bridge.

That is great news - there isn't much I like more in the world than a cheap lobster!

thanks for the tip...
