Smaller hotel, Playa Del Carmen
 

We are planning a trip soon to Playa Del Carmen. The places my husband shows me are so big and fancy. I would like a smaller hotel. I want it to have a Central American feel. Of course, I want to be well taken care of, have good food, and a beautiful beach with lovely chairs and umbrellas. We are not coming to party. Our goal is a beautiful place to relax.
What are your best suggestions?

Look into the Royal Hideaway Playacar. It is an adults only all inclusive resort. It only has about 200 rooms and is located on a beautiful beach. It is a laid back, luxury resort. Great service and good food. If you want to relax this place is perfect.

(I loved the look of Viceroy Riviera Maya, but we can’t afford that.)

Another small adults only AI resort is Catalonia Royal Tulum. It is also on a beautiful beach. I have not stayed there, but you can check reviews. It is reasonably priced.
