Single Female in Argentina

I have taken the advice given to me when I posted my first message and I have conducted some research.

First, thank you drdawggy for your hotel recommendations.

I have decided I would like to stay in the Barrio Norte area as I have read this location is close to public transportation. I would like to visit November 22 to Novembe 28 but I am not having any luck with hotel vacancies. Suggestions for hotels in this area that might have rooms available will be most appreciated. I would like to stay below $100.00 if possible.

Thank you all very much.

Well, TRDA, the reason you have found no vacancies in the hotels you tried probably is that many Americans come here for Thanksgiving.

We'll see what drdawggy can do to help you, as he is more knowledgeable about hotels than I am, but I suggest posting the same question on:

You should get more replies that way.

Not sure which hotels you tried. But some in Barrio Norte are
The Wilton Palace

Art Hotel

Juncal Palace.

Of the list, the most reasonable is the Juncal Palace. It is the only one I have stayed in (though have had friends stay at the Wilton) You can get a single room for under $30.00 US. The rooms are small but all in all the place is an excellent value. it is about 4 blocks from Santa Fe and the subte. It was convenient and liked the feel of being in a neighbourhood as opposed to more downtown (which also has some benefits)

good luck
raquel

Okay. I am in the right place now. I will ask questions and reply in this message only. Everyone ignore the Barrio Norte posting. Thank you avrooster. I was not offended by your suggestion. Your help is appreciated.

I don't know why I was surprised to learn how many people travel to Argentina in November. My fingers are crossed. After reading about this area it seemed to be the ideal location for me. I can walk or take public transportation. I read that the Juncal is close to the museums and shopping. Is this true? I hope drdawggy can help.
