Airline Cancelations

I am hearing conflictin information about airline cancelations into Cancun. Some say that United has cancelled through December; others say the USAIR has done the same; others say Frontier will be flying into Cancun very soon. Does anyone know anything definitive on this? Thanks

I'd call the airlines directly and ask them. I think that's your best source of information.

You can also check the individual websies. Frontier is currently stating a November 4 date and ATA is anticipating mid-November.

Cancun Updates: Sun Country Airlines will continue to operate at least one daily flight from Cancun to Dallas/Ft. Worth, TX with continuing service to Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN through October 29. Passengers waiting to leave Cancun should go to the Colegio La Salle school from which there is transportation into the airport. The school is in front of LaCasa de la Cultura on Avenue Labna y Yaxchilan, roughly two kilometers from the airport.

Electricity and telephone service have been restored to approximately 50 percent of the Cancun resort area. Many resorts and restaurants are now open for limited accommodations. However, Sun Country will not fly passengers into Cancun from any domestic departure city until further notice; these flights are for departures from Cancun only. Sun Country will begin service to Puerto Vallarta on November 12, with additional flights to Mexico anticipated to be announced shortly. Sun Country passengers with reservations to/from Cancun between October 19 and December 15 may change their destination without change fees or cancel their flight and hold a credit for a future Sun Country flight

We were going to go ahead with a long-planned trip on 11/18 to Aventura Spa Palace, because we heard the hotel was in pretty good shape.

When our travel agent asked for our final documents yesterday, United Airlines said, oh, sorry, we're not going to fly there until 12/15. 3 people calling united got 3 different stories.

1. your flight will go as planned
2. keep checking back, it changes every day
3. your flight is canceled.

So, now we're rebooked for January. They are keeping our money but gave us a $50 credit, whoopee.
