Shopping in Recoleta
 

We are going to South America in a few weeks and will be spending about 4-5 days in Buenos Aires staying in Recoleta. I hear there is good shopping there. Does anyone have any suggestions/recommendations (also for restaurants)? Also, how's the duty-free shopping at Buenos Aires International Airport? Advice would be appreciated. No bargains in Recolleta, the ritzy section of BA, look at San Telmo flea markets for bargains.

Hi Melinda! As I live in Buenos Aires, I can tell you that Recoleta is one of the most beautiful neighbourghoods in the city... but in addition is the more expensive... You'll find lots of places to have fun there, like nightclubs, restaurants, pubs, cinemas, etc... it depends on what you are looking for... Probably the three best buys in Buenos Aires are: cashmere sweaters (I bought a beautiful cartigan, jacket type with beautiful buttons, for $110) Leather goods......and the WINE.........
