Shipping Packages From Peru to US

My wife is looking to get quite a few crafty things during our trip to Peru. Enough that she is thinking she might want to bring a broken down box with her and ship some items back. Does anyone have a rough idea how much it would cost to ship something from Peru to America? Obviously this could vary depending on weight and everything, but a general idea of how much more it might cost would be helpful. I have the feeling that it might not even be worth it. Thanks in advance!

it would be cheaper to bring an empty suitcase and check it or carry it on. Even it it involved an "extra bag" fee.

It would also be a more reliable method (checking a 2nd suitcase thru when you return).

A couple of years ago we purchased a large wall hanging (woven) and 3 ceramic figures and - because we were traveling for another couple of months - had them shipped by via DHL. It was about $200

Thanks! We went with the extra luggage route and luckily fabric souvenirs dont weigh all that much.
