Percy, thanks for the mention! My favorite memory of Paris....one early morning getting up and looking out from the tiny balcony (Left Bank)and in the light rain/mist comes a slightly enebriated Parisian singing and dancing to "I'm Singing in the Rain"(in French) ala Gene Kelly. It was truly a magical moment that will live with me forever.
Plus seeing Winged Victory at the Louvre. An out of body experience. I think I must have seen her in a past life. It was a feeling I had not had before. Sorry for rambling! Bon Voyage! Safe travels! Toni

Have a great trip, three wonderful countries, have some pastries in Paris for me, some great sausage and spaetzle in Germany and lots of cheese fondue in Switzerland. Love all three countries....

And, I'm not upset you forgot me, I'm pretty quiet on this board, yet always here.....and enjoy reading everyone's advise and trip reports.

Percy Aug 1st, 2008 06:43 AM

Thanks parrmt...will do what you say as I am writing this down, just to make sure.

The Louvre is on the list.

When in Berlin I will be at the Victory Column there also..so Oboma will have nothing over me,except he drew bigger crowds !!!:)

owlwoman...sorry I forgot to mention you. Please accept my apology. I have read your comments and seen your name on this board.

I have been quiet also ,but I read everyone else's comments and enjoy them all.

Hi Percy! Off on a new adventure I see...lucky you! Have a great time.

Nutella crepes...yum! I could live on just the bread, cheese and wine though!

volcanogirl Aug 2nd, 2008 06:05 AM

I haven't been to Paris for a long time, but when I was there, I had a croissant and hot chocolate for breakfast every day, and I was in heaven.

Welcome back, shillmac; we're looking forward to hearing all the details!

shillmac Aug 13th, 2008 07:02 PM

I won't be able to do it justice. I think it was the best ever!

tully Aug 14th, 2008 04:04 AM

So where are those pics I "ordered"? :) Welcome back!

shillmac Aug 14th, 2008 04:01 PM

On the way--tonight.

shillmac Aug 14th, 2008 04:53 PM

Thanks for the welcome--it's good to be back. . . LOL!

The photos are in your mailbox. Tons of them.

tully Aug 14th, 2008 07:31 PM

Got em. Is Mr Shillmac gonna be "on call"? I don't remember the rooms being that open, lol. I can see myself needing a drink or three before bed. The one dog needs to learn how to let loose, relax, a little bit ha ha. That'll tide me over for a while! Only a little over 10 months to go, ugh!

shillmac Aug 14th, 2008 07:44 PM

Poor Mr. Shillmac is always on call. We've developed a new consciousness, though. He isn't allowed to dispose permanently of anything. . .he only has permission to put them outside and send them on their merry way.

Already looking for excuses to knock a few back before bedtime? LOL!

Did I tell you that once again I had my 9:30 a.m. Imperial on your behalf? One of these days I'm going to get up the courage to buy it and drink it without going into all that detail about how it is in honor of you, LOL! I don't think anyone ever believes me, anyway. :)

Uh, yeah. . .the relaxed dog, that would be Chester.
