Secrets Capri or Excellence Riviera Cancun?

I am planning a trip to the Mayan Riviera and would like to stay at Maroma Resort for part of the stay and an all-inclusive for the rest. I am having trouble deciding between Secrets Capri and Excellence Riviera Cancun. Does anyone have any suggestions? Also, have heard the beach is not great at either place, hence the Maroma choice. Any insight appreciated.
Thanks,
Annie

I can only comment on the beach at the Excellence. It is full of seaweed. We stayed next door at the Paridisus but walked to the Excellence. We walked around and the place looked beautiful. We also were thinking of trying Secrets, our thinking was the beach can't be any worse than it was at Paridisus. We were told that the beaches have less seaweed the closer you get to Playa Del Carmen. I would be curious to know if this is true.

I think the beach at Secrets Capri is much better:

I think the beach was better before the hurricane. Not sure if the pictures of Secrets Capri were taken before or after.
Any other ideas of where to stay in this area with a nice beach, preferably all-inclusive?

The picture was taken before the hurricane. Do you know what changed from that photo. Usually things that are a huge bummer like giant slabs of rock and masses of embedded sea grass don't change with the hurricanes.
