Santa Elena/Monteverde area - night and day tours

We will be in Costa Rica in mid-November and will have a day and a half in the Santa Elena/Monteverde area (staying at Casa Batsu). We definitely want to visit the Monteverde Cloud Forest Ecological Reserve. I have heard that it is good both during the day (early morning advised) and after dark. I am debating whether to go to this reserve both morning and evening or to go to a different place (e.g., Santa Elena Cloud Forest Reserve, Curicancha Reserve, or Hidden Valley) one of the times. I'd appreciate your advice about this. I am planning to arrange for a guide for both of these, as this has been highly recommended. I'm considering either Roy Porras or the guide that works with Casa Batsu.

We loved the night hike at Hidden Valley - very fun to troop around in the dark with a flashlight, and the guides were excellent. In addition to the usual snakes, frogs, and insects, we saw a porcupine and a fox, two things we had never seen before in Costa Rica.

We love Casa Batsu!!! One of our favorite places. The owner is the sweetest and pay for him to make you dinner one night. You wonít regret it. We used Andres at Forest Alive for tours in that area and were very happy. We especially liked the night tour.
