San Telmo Antiques Fair

We'll be arriving in BA on a Monday in April and departing the following Saturday evening. In your opinion, is it worth extending our trip a day to experience the Sunday San Telmo Antique Fair? Is their a similar option that we can experience Monday thru Saturday?

Also, we're staying at the Bobo Hotel in the Minamilist room. Is this still one of the best places to stay in Palermo Soho?

I would not extend my stay only for that. Around the San Telmo area there are many antique shops which are open all week. However to be hones I have never been on San Telmo during the week to tellyou more about the fair. I though it was only on Sundays.

The antiques fair is on Sundays. The experience is less about purchasing antiques (many of which are fakes) and more about the ambiance--the crowd, the street entertainers and so forth.

Most of the fairs in Buenos Aires are on Sundays....If you choose to stay over you might want to experience a variety of markets--San Telmo, Mataderos, Recoleta and Plaza Serrano (Palermo Soho) in the same day to get a feel for life in different parts of the city....

If you decide not to change your plans...Recoleta's "hippie" fair is open Saturday and Sunday.

The Bobo is a great little hotel in Palermo...although it is several blocks from the shopping/restaurant "heart" of Palermo Soho.

Thanks for the comments, especially the "hippie" fair. We're not antique lovers, but were more interested in experiencing all that goes along with the Sunday festivities. I'm sure we will have plenty of fun experiences Monday through Saturday without having to modify the trip.

My husband and I really enjoy San Telmo during the week. It is not so crowded and you can wander the little side streets and enjoy the wonderful atmosphere of the neighborhood, a step away from the over the top tourist-ness...
We had coffee one late morning and 2 Tango dancers started practicing so you never know what you will see, at any time of the week :)

Don't go on a Monday though, many shops are closed.

I hear the restaurant in Bobo is pretty good!
