San Blas

As I have booked a month at Los Cuatro Vientos. PV in February I am thinking of spending a few days up in San Blas. Remember reading about some sewage difficulties there and I am wondering if this has been corrected. Do not wish to take a 5 hour round bus trip to visit a polluted beach.
Any information on this subject and other advice for this visit is appreciated

Wow..I was there about 30 years ago..curious if you go how it is now. I was not overwhelmed by the beaches in Nayarit.

Have you been to Melaque--just curious, as that was another place I know from long ago..

Yes but it has been 10 years.

Beaches in Nayarit are so- so at best, if that is what you seek, then I would recommend going to Playa Distaladeros on the way to Punta Mita.
We have been in the area since Nov. 1st and have seen quite a few beaches.
I would qualify them as « The good, the bad and the ugly »
As mentioned, Distaledoras, Rincon de Guayabitos and one or two in PV would qualify as Good. Sayulita, Lo de Marcos, Bucerias IMO would qualify as bad and we won’t bother with the ugly...

Are you sure you aren't mixing it up with Sayulita? That's where there have been recent issues with water quality and pollution.

I think the poster above is referring to "Destiladeras".

Been to all the beaches in the immediate PV area including Punta Mita long before "Fat Jack" built his #$@^%$ golf course wiping out the native village that was there for ever.
Just wondering about San Blas and rumors I had heard.
