Royal Hideaway or Marquis

Hi - My husband and I were looking to book a week long vacation at Marquis in Cabo San Lucas when I came across postings for RH. It almost seems to good to be true. Any thoughts? How are the rooms, the pool, etc.

Which resort would you recommend?

All I can say is the beaches in The Riviera Maya are much better than Cabo San Lucas. In fact, the whole area is much more appealing.
I've never stayed at the RH, but it seems everyone who does is very happy with it.
You might also look at Maroma and Ikal del Mar, and Ceiba del Mar, all on the Riviera Maya...

It's true, although you won't believe how good it is the entire time you're there.

We went there last May to celebrate our 25th anniversary. All those glowing reports do not lie (check out tripadvisor.com).

The rooms are great. The bathrooms are marble, 5 piece with jacuzzi tubs. There are many villas with a concierge for each one to help you with any needs you might have. There are many pools. One right near the beach, another next to that one that I think is for activities and then scattered around the resort are "relaxation" pools. We spent most of our time at the beach, but did enjoy some time in the relaxation pools most days.

The food was fabulous. The grounds are beautiful. But what really sets the Royal Hideaway apart is the service. I have stayed at several 5 star hotels and nothing has ever even come close to how incredible the service was. They act like they just can't do enough for you.

It was an unforgettable experience that I can't wait to repeat.

The RH is beautiful. It is so elegant, romantic and relaxing. The service is impeccable, and they spoil you rotton. The food is great! Plan to gain a few pounds!

We love it at the Royal because it is a true vacation....you worry about nothing, since everything is taken care of for you. And there are no kids running around - just adults. It's calm, peaceful, wonderful.

Enjoy!!

We will be taking our 19 year old son with us over christmas to stay at RH. Is this a young adult friendly place?

I don't think the RH allows children under 16 or so. The RH isn't really the kind of place I'd go as a family vacation, more an anniversary or honeymoon type spot.
Even the Riu Palace, which is the other deluxe resort in the area, would be more "kid" friendly...
