Royal Hideaway CONS???

I've been reading a lot of messages about Royal Hideaway, and it seems to get wonderful reviews from everyone, and I'm seriously considering a trip there next year. But I never read any negatives on the place, or certain features it lacks that hotels in its class have. Can some of you enlighten me with anything that you did NOT like about the place? I'm really curious...

I am headed to the Royal Hideaway in a couple weeks (Oct. 12th) with my husband to celebrate our 1 year anniversary. I am curious too to see if there are any con's there. A friend of mine went to Playa Del Carmen two years ago, didn't stay at RH but walked through the resort and said the grounds were just beautiful.

Went in April and enjoyed it but there were a few cons (I am being picky but since you asked) - Little or no opportunity for outside dining in the evening; make reservations for dinner in advance or you will get stuck with 6:00 or 9:30; hardly any oceanview rooms; and I felt the beach was crowded but my last trip before RH was to Turks and Caicos where the beach was empty so most anything probably would have seemed crowded after that experience. Overall a beautiful resort with fabulous food, not our favorite destination but a very nice resort.

I never had any problem with reservations for dinner...guess I had a good concierge. Did not find the beach to be crowded, but it is surrounded by many other, cheaper resorts which makes the beach busy.<BR>
