Roostre Fishing from Tamarindo

Staying at the Barcelo Playa Langosta Jan 21st to 28th. want to concentrate on Roosterfishing while the rest of the guys are out dragging lures.
Anyone know of any guides? Hotel say will fix me up but a little "going-in" info would help.
Thanks.

go to www.visittamarindo.com and click on the fishing boats. Maybe this will help.

Ok, this was not in Tamarindo, but my husband's goal last trip was to catch a rooster.

We were staying in Nosara and drove down to Garza to go out with "Nino" on a 22' Panga/workboat. It was 250$ for a 1/2 day of inshore fishing, which ended about 1:30.

We caught a rooster first thing, then the dorado(dolphin), then the tuna, jacks in between...it wore us out.

So, my advice is to ask the guys working at your hotel, bartenders, waiters, etc. and you'll hook up with the guy who has a brother with a boat that knows what he's doing.

You'll spend less, catch more and have a much more "real" fishing trip than the guys out dragging lures on the fancy boat.

Certainly not the rooster! They are very prized as catch and release only. Our hotel chef did cook up the dorado, very good.
