Roatan Lodging
Planning a trip to Roatan in March, mostly for snorkling and R&R. Has anyone stayed at Seagrape Plantation Resort? Or have suggestions for moderate-priced alternative - maybe a little "off the beaten path"?

We loved renting a house on West End Beach. Great snorkeling right from the beach.

We stayed at West Bay Lodge last Feb. and enjoyed it a lot. It's a short walk to the beach and you can snorkle there. It's set up as small little cottages and it includes breakfast. Great service. We are going back in April.

The Seagrape Plantation we're looking at says it's a three-minute walk from West End, and is $60/night for a/c bungalow. Most of the lodging in West End is less expensive than West Bay, and we're trying to save $$ since the airline tickets are so high. Do you think we'll be OK staying right outside West End?

Lucy,
I can't blame you for trying to save money. Before I went last year I went back and forth about where to stay.. West End or West Bay. I think that 65 dollars a night is a great deal and it looks like a nice place to stay. It's very easy to get water taxi's to the West Bay area if you like. We walked one morning to West End and it's not a bad walk at all. Roatan is so beautiful that I am sure you are just going to be so happy that you are there. Enjoy |
