Riviera Maya - Nice Beach and nice water?

In addition to my previous post, I have another question. I am looking for an hotel with a nice beach and also, nice water. I have noticed often on the pictures that there is some coral in the water. I had the same issue in Jamaica and the kids did not enjoy.

Tks

Sorry, didn't see the other post. There are so many AI's in the area. Are you looking at being near a town, away from town, etc. The Riviera Maya is a large area to try to narrow down and the beaches are different in different places.

If I am going at a Al's, being close to town or away from town will not be that relevant for us. Our priority is to have the best water/beach!

I have read in another post that "Many beaches in Mayan Riviera have coral and not great water access"... and I hate those types of beaches!

Should I go somewhere else than Mayan Riviera to find what I am looking for?

I remember the beach and water at Varadero and it was awesome. Can I find something similar in Mexico?

hi robin, having no idea of your budget i am going to suggest you look at akumal beach resort. it is a smaller ai, in akumal. easy walk into small town. rental car avail in town. has sandy beach in front and snorkeling just down the beach: http://www.locogringo.com/akumal/aku...Beach%20Resort

lg is an outstanding research site! if you e them and tell them your budget, dates and that you want ai with sandy swim entrance they will e you a list of appropriate properties. and don't forget that coral in the water means excellent snorkeling.

spanish is not necessary, but a few phrases are easy to master. perhaps you could assign this to the teens as a vaca research project.
i advise using atm card to get cash while you're there.

just an fyi. if you keep all your questions on this subject in one thread it will be easier.
