Riveria Maya All-Inclusive Recommendations
 

Planning a trip to Riveria Maya in early August. We're looking for a nice all inclusive (adult only) resort that has excellent service/accommodations/food/beach and entertainment. Recommendations are welcome. thanks in advance.

Hi Sue... <BR> <BR>I believe the only resorts that are adults only in that area are: <BR> <BR>Aventura Palace <BR>El Dorado Royale <BR>El Dorado Resort & Spa <BR> <BR>The Royal Hideaway was adults only when it first opened, but has since changed it's policy...However, there are usually very few children there probably due to the high price of this resort... <BR> <BR>LIZ

My husband and I just returned from the Riveria Maya two weeks ago. We stayed at the El Dorado Seaside Suites Resort and were very pleased. If you are looking for an AI romantic,adults only resort that offers great service, relaxation and activities; then this is a good one. I read on Forbes.com that they were recently rated as one of the most romantic hotels.Their accommodations range from garden view suites to ocean front Jacuzzi junior suites. They offer nightly entertainment as well as activities during the day such as yoga, volleyball, cooking classes, spanish lessons,ceramic painting and salsa dance lessons.They also offer kayaks, paddle boats and snorkeling gear rentals included in the price. They have 4 restaurants that are a la carte rather than buffet style which was nice. We thought 3 out of the 4 restaurants had excellent food for dinner with the exception of one dinner we had at their Arricefes restaurant. However, breakfast and lunch was always good there. The Mexican restaurant has a nice tequila bar which we were able to try several really good aged tequilas. The one compliant my husband had about the food was the quality of red meat he had twice during our stay.Not sure if it was the resort, Mexican beef in general or that we are just spoiled with good quailty steak here in Texas.They made great Pina Coladas as well as many other mixed drinks. One of our favorite things was the four post canopy palapa type beach beds draped in linen that line the entire beach of the resort.It was nice to relax or read a book on them while the waiter brings you a cool drink. They also have 2 fresh water pools, a spa and a gym on the premises. The moonlight massages were excellent!Their beach is nice but the water is only waist deep near shore and very rocky bottom. You have to swim out pretty far if you wanted to snorkel or really swim. It is a small sized resort-not like some of the other mega resorts. They only have around 150 rooms I believe. But for couples like us that don't want a lot of noise and have to fight crowds, its the perfect size.
