Riu Yucatan vs Iberostar Quetzal/Tucan

We are looking at both of these resorts for March. We have stayed at the Riu Palace Mexico and like the location. Which resort is better and why? We have read the Yucatan was recently renovated. How is the food? Do both have a lot of kids? Thanks.

Large, all-inclusive resorts aren't my travel preferance, so can't give first hand advice. However, I am a confessed internet travel board junkie. With that in mind, take this with a grain of salt.

I am pretty sure that I have read recently that the beach at the Rui Yucatan is pretty much gone. Has eroded away over the past few months. (I may have my hotels mixed up, but if those hotel is in the Playacar area of Playa del CArmen, I'd be asking lots of questions before you book.)
