Riu Palace Mexico
Can't decide where to stay on an "Apple" tip around Christmas. Single mom, 13 and 14 year old. How's te Riu Palace?
|
Hi...

Since we haven't been there yet (next month!) I probably shouldn't comment...But from what I've learned about the Riu Palace, I think your children would probably be bored...It seems to be a little more 'staid' than some of the other properties and they have no organized children's activities...Altho' your teenagers probably don't consider themselves 'children'!..LOL

Why don't you post your question on PlayaGuide.Com ?...I'm sure you'll get lots of suggestions...

LIZ

Although I think Riu Palace is a better resort overall compared to Iberostar, I think your 13 and 14 year old would have a better time at Iberostar Tucan/Quetzal.

Palace is better suited for couples, older crowd, it is more elegant. Iberostar has more activities, there are animals everywhere, etc. so probably better for the teens

Is Riu Palace a good place for a honeymoon? How is the beach? Big? Watersports?
|
By the way, are we crazy to be going there the week of Sept. 15th for our honeymoon? Yes, I know that's the peak of hurricane season. Any thoughts anyone?

We just got back from the Riu Palace. I agree with the above posters that the teenage crowd would probably be bored, but for a honeymoon destination it is great. The beach is beautiful and there are *plenty* of lounge chairs. The pool is so-so, but there was a wide range of watersports, and the equipment looked to be in good shape. Of course the motorized cost extra. I know this isn't too specific, but if you want more details, feel free to email me.
