Rio question
I will be in Rio for the last 2 days of carnaval, 2/23 and 2/24. Any recommendations as to which street parades are the best?? Is the winners parade worth the money?? Also is there any other Don't miss things to do or see while in Rio (besides the obivious, sugarloaf, the beaches, etc.)

Isn't the winners parade the weekend after Carnival? If it is then it's not one of your choices, you won't be there. Go to one of the Carnival balls.

Hello,
yes, te winner parade in the Sambodromo is worth the money, especially because it is half the price than on the normal days of Carnival! But you won't have the chance to go to this , because the winner parade takes place on 28. ebruary, ..the ones at 23. and 24. are the normal parades of the samba schools... but they are also worth their money!!! If you have more questions on this or what to do an don't,please do not hesitate to ask me here in this forum! Greetings carioquinha |
Sorry to mention, I will be arriving for the last 2 days of carnaval and will be staying until March 1. But any suggestions on street parades? How about a day trip to Buzioz, is that worth the time? I heard it could get bad with traffic. Thanks.

Buzios is about 2.5 hours and 110 miles north east of Rio. I don't think a day trip is good it would be better to at least stay over night and maybe 2 days as it is a nice place to visit. Better on the weekend for nightlife but when you are going which is high tourist season night life should be going on every night.
