Rio in October....

Rio in October...Is the weather warm enough for the beach...water temp OK?...How about rainfall...I am thinking of taking my 1st trip to South American in Oct and am trying to get a handle on the basics...I've checked the weather sites but I wanted dome first hand knowledge....Thanks!

I was in Rio late October last year and I was at the beach no problem. Temps during the day was in the 80's and 90's so plenty warm enough. The big rain season is around March, October is late Spring but the weather is more like Miami but I have seen days in December at 110 and the same in Feb

Even if big rain season is March, that doesn't mean it will always rain. We were there the end of March (arrived the 26th). Had drizzle the first day. Some low clouds the second day, but then clearing mid morning. And sunny and warm the rest of the time! You will LOVE Rio no matter when you go. We stayed at the Orla Copacabana. Great location and nice hotel.

Rio has beach weather all year. Most people prefer around October because it is not so hot in the evening when the sun goes down.... you can actually wear long pants comfortably!

I was in Rio in September and thought that the weather was phenomenal --- comfortable out on the beaches every day without ever being scorching hot.

Have fun!
