Resorts in Nicaragua--are there any?

Interested in visiting our daughter in Nicaragua in December. Are there any resorts near Granada or on Lake Cocibolca? Any other suggestions??

Morgan's Rock, but I believe that was about 3 hours driving from Granada. Very secluded, lovely cabinas, great beach.

There are a lot of very nice hotels in Granada, but none that are 'resorts'. There are a couple nice hotels up near San Juan del Sur, which is about 2.5 hours from Granada.

You might want to look into places like Hotel Dario, La Gran Francia, Casa San Francisco or Hotel Plaza Colon if you decide to stay in Granada. I think these are some of the nicer places. If you go to TripAdvisor's website, you can read reviews of the various hotels.

We are staying at Colonial for two nights next month. It gets pretty good reviews and should be within walking distance of restaurants and things to do and see.

But don't forget Hotel con Corazon en Granada!!! please check it out on tripadvisor (nr 1 in Nicaragua) or its website: www.hotelconcorazon.com.

Resorts aren't available in Granada. However Laguna de apoyo (20 mins drive from Granada) has got some.

Otherwise buena vista surf club, near San Juan del Sur.

I am not sure if Pelican Eyes in San Juan del Sur is considererd a resort or not.. It is very nice and has a couple of pools and a good resturant. They also offer sailing trips and other tours out of their hotel. Enjoy

On the crater rim at Laguna de Apoyo, a working ranch, with large ranch house and rentals. Absolutely stunning views over Nicaragua and much cooler than flatlands below.

We were disappointed in the Laguna de Apoyo area, and even though I am not a resort person, I am having difficulty thinking that this area is what the OP is looking for.
