Recommendations for Mexcian Restaurant in PV??
I am looking for recommendations for a fun Mexican restaurant in PV with a great atmosphere, good authentic Mexican food and excellent maragaritas. Any recommendations???

PiPi's on Calle Pipila, has a great brunch on Sundays

There are so many great restaurants in P.V. Way to many to even list. Try to Red Cabbage for great Mexican food.

Pipi's was a BLAST and my pick for best. Has all you described, including a mariachi band that goes table to table. Staff were GREAT - best guacamole I have ever had (they made it right at our table). Very reasonably priced. (Oh, and get there early..else you'll wait). Nice too because it is a little off the beaten path. In contrast, the "old town" Mex restaurants felt "franchise-y", and sadly if you sat at a sidewalk table, you would be constantly approached by flower sellers, etc.

Cafe de Olla in Old town is great for Mex. food and Margaritas...<BR>also Las Brisas on River Cuale side,<BR>and El Andariego has good food and Maricachis...<BR><BR>Pipi's is too comercial and loud,<BR>they kick you out o there so they can serve more tables... rude people!

I second Cafe de Olla in the old town. I remember in high season lines ups to be seated. I also recommend Le Bistro on the Isla Rio Cuale expensive but worth it-- direct link: www.hypermex.com/htmlads/lebistro.htm<BR><BR>There is a great restuarant just down from Senior Frogs where the staff dress in shirts from the Brazilian Soccer Team<BR>and offered all the meat you can eat for $9.99 (that was then).

Brasil, Tequilas, Cafe de Olla, any Mexican Fiesta, Las Brisas

I second the Cafe de Olla! The bes food and prices on the south end of PV!<BR><BR>adios!<BR>mexicodan<BR>www.choice1.com/villamontana.htm<BR>

I agree with all tips so far, but also recommend Consuelas (sp?). Excellent chicken mole. Great food, beautiful restaurant, but a little more on the quiet side than lively when we have been there.

Hi Connie,<BR>Here are a few suggestions. I tried all of these while working in that area. As others mentioned before "Cafe de Olla" is very down to earth and cheap! Try the Carne Asada there. Very popular place, there may be a wait. "Chico's Paradise," handmade tortillas, fresh jumbo shrimp and stuffed crab. The chili rellenos are great here. Atmosphere is great too. "Don Pedro's" was pretty good. It is 30 minutes north of the airport. Fresh fish dishes grilled over mesquite. Very tastie. Their mango ice cream is wonderful. "Trio" is a little on the expensive side, but worth it. There is a roof top bar, which is nice for drinks and relaxation. The sean bass was tops here. For VERY FANCY and the BEST views in PV try "Cafe des Artistes." Try the roast duck.

Agree with most posts, thus far. Our favorite is Los Arbolitos. Located in a quiet neighborhood and a favorite of locals. We always have dinner with our Mexican friends at this restaurant.
|
Dave,<BR>I love Los Arbolitos. The food is so good. Just thinking about it makes me drool.

I will fifth the sugestion for Casa de Olla!! Best food we had in four weeks was there. Waiting lines start between 6:30 and 7, so go early if you wish to not wait.
|
I 6th Cafe de Olla, been there three times in my two trips to PV. I also recommend the Fajita Republic which is across the street... the meat for the fajitas is unbelievable, they put something in that sauce!
