Recommend Private Van Shuttle?

We are a family of four travelling to Costa Rica in late January and are looking for a private van shuttle from Manuel Antonio to Monteverde. Does anyone have any recommendations of companies to use? Some companies I've seen on the web are costaricashuttle.com; monteverdeinfo.com;AnywhereCostaRica.com. Anyone had experience with these companies? Good/bad? Any other recommendations?

Check into Interbus at www.interbusonline.com

It isn't private, but they serve the public with small turismo vans and provide a safe and reliable method of transportation. Usually the cost runs about $30 per person.

Since we're travelling with 2 small children, a private van will be more convenient if the kids get antsy and need to stop and run around for a while. The shuttle service only allows for 1-2 15 minute stops.

Anyone have any recommendations?

Thanks

Several people can help you with that service.

Price is around $150.00 and will take around 5 hours, good road until Sardinal and bad road all the way to Santa Elena.

You may have good luck hiring a driver through your hotel; that's what we've always done and have always had good luck with that.

i have used John at A Safe Passage, and had nothing but great things to say. Their rates are reasonable as well. His email is [email protected]

And just so you know, Interbus does offer private service. You just have to go to that window on their website to price it.

Leonardo Rodriguez is a great driver/tour guide. He is a college grad, speaks fluent English but most importantly, is a good driver. He owns his own Tourismo vans. He can be e-mailed at [email protected] He gets rave reviews on this site along with www.tripadvisor.com and www.frommers.com. We used him a couple yrs. ago and all ages adored him. Pura Vida

hi - our family traveled to costa rica a year ago and i am now helping another family plan their trip because ours was so great that they want to have the same experience. we chose a car with driver because of the advice from Juan Luis Brenes, Aguila Tours. he set us up with oscar and to this day my children (girl 11 yrs and boy 9 yrs)remember/miss and speak of oscar. so worth it to use him!!! i would contact juan of aguila tours to make the arrangements. i would also email juan with any other questions you may have and he will not steer you wrong with any info he will provide. juan is happy to help you with anything ... even if you do not travel to manuel antonio which is where he is located email address is [email protected].
i hope your family has a memorable vacation just like ours!

I just returned from Costa Rica and I used Wilson Rojas. He and his wife Elsy booked most of my vacation. Wilson was my driver/guide. I cannot tell you how wonderful he is. He pointed out beautiful spots, recommended excellent tours and guides and even pursuaded a souvenier shop to stay open so that we could get some souveniers before leaving town.

His contact information is [email protected].

If you want more information, you can email me at [email protected]
