Recommedations for SJ airport hotel for 7AM flight

Need a hotel for the last night, close enough to make a 7 am flight. Was thinking about Orquideas. Too far? Any other suggestions. Thanks everyone!

I made my 6:55am on AA out last year leaving from Orquideas just fine. Arranged with the front desk and Luis was there right on time to take me.

You might also check with Hotel Villa Bonita, a bed and breakfast operated by a young Tico couple--5 min. from the airport. Humberto and Carmen will take good care of you. They are so much fun! I like Orquideas as well, but because of the closer proximity, we usually stay at HVB now--about $50 for 2.

Thanks for the great input. So, what time do we need to be at the airport for that 7:00 flight? And, if we stayed at HVB is there a place for dinner nearby, & can they arrange transport to the airport? Again, thanks Tully & Shillmac!

At least 2hrs or more at the airport and yes they can arrange transport for you the night before. Not sure if dinner is close but a taxi could bring you the short distance.

My pick-up was at 4:45am for my flight and that was plenty of time. Spent barely a half hour in the misc lines and the rest of the time counting all the Cafe Britt stores (talk about a monoply!). Get there at 5am and you'll be fine.

Humberto at Hotel Villa Bonita will arrange everything for you (as will most places, of course). Two blocks down the street is Inti Raymi, a great little Peruvian restaurant--they have excellent corvina (sea bass) and ceviche (you MUST try this, if you haven't). One of our favorite places to eat! And if we're really tired, Humberto will run to Taco Bell and pick up some fast food or order pizza --yes, REALLY tired!
