Reasonably Priced Lodging in La Fortuna/Arenal Area for 4

I will be travelling to the La Fortuna/Arenal area in late January and am looking for reasonably priced accomodations. Ii would like to have the option of eating meals in the town rather than the hotel to save $ and to have more options for eating. We do not need anything fancy, but would like hospitality and some quiet.

Is silencio del campo in your budget? They are a wonderful local family owned place with bonus of hot springs on site. They are also very convenient to town to have lunch or dinner.

Will you have a car? If so, I really liked the cabins at Arenal Paraiso, breakfast included in the rates. But it's not that close to town if you don't have a car.

It has zipline, 13 thermal pools, horseback riding, swimming pool, hiking trail and we thought it was reasonable - around $100 per night, including the tax and breakfast.

We liked Volcano Lodge & Gardens in Areanal, great breakfast included, nice room, beautiful grounds and free internet: http://www.volcanolodge.com/
It's no more then 10 minutes from town by car.
The Expedia.com had the best price when I booked.

We enjoyed Silencio del Campo. Breakfast is included. Roomy cabins with 2 double beds. Pool, plus thermal springs pool. Beautiful grounds. Not far from town.

Try Villa Vilmas just north of La Fortuna maybe 1 km. on right. Good price, across the street is La Vaca Muca restaurant. Local food at good prices.

Tell Vilma Jim the photographer sent you.
