Candace;

Stayed at this resort a few years ago in November. Clothing optional area frequented by people in the "lifestyle". Not that there is anyting wrong with that if it is your cup of tea.
Food was great and the entertainment eas excellent for a resort out of the way.
The beach is bad - rock piers that the pelicans deficate on all day long and the water was too cold too swim in in November.
The pools had to be heated at this time of year or they would be freezing and pants and sweaters were needed at night.
The town of Loretto was very neat. One of the first mission church's in Mexico.
The gold course was okay.
Hope this helps.
Randy
Just returned 3/12/00 from a 4-day stay at Eden. Went with 13 other couples and believe all had a great time. Food was excellent, weather was perfect, 2 pools - one heated, staff very friendly. The food was excellent - Mexican buffet one night, Mexican order from menu another - did not try the Italian restaurant but heard it was great too. Spent one afternoon in the town of Loretto on a quest for the perfect margarita! Check out the hotel in town, great view from bar/deck, Chilie Willies - great lobster and margaritas. Husband played golf 2 days - had a good time- said it was hard mainly because of the desert terain. Clothing optional jacuzzi a must see!

We went to the Eden Loreto for our anniversary this past November. It is a terrific resort! The food was great, as were the drinks. The main restaurant had a Mexican night, a French night, etc. All were great. We also ate at the Italian restaurant and it was great too. There is a Mexican one as well and a lot of people ate there. We didn't but just because we liked the others so much. The beach one was great as well. The people were friendly, the entertainment was great. You could be as active or not as you choose! Bikes were available free of charge. The area is safe, the town interesting. We found the weather in November perfect - hot during the day and a little cooler at night (maybe a sweater in the evening).
The ocean was warm and we were in it every day! Water sports available. It was a little seaweedy but it was easy to avoid. The beach was not a white sand Caribbean one but we still liked it.Took a long walk to the point and there the water was even clearer!
Our rooms were by the nude beach and there were lots of people who used it but it didn't bother us! They were discreet. We didn't use the hot tub and did wish there were times that were not clothing optional.
We highly recommend the Eden! Actually emailed the hotel and asked for their pasta sauce recipe - it was delicious! The owner emailed it back to me with a lovely note! Not many would do that I think. If you go, hope you have a great time. Next time we would choose more side trips - a week goes quickly!
Dave and Denise

Eden Loreto Resort ( Resorts in Mexico)]

Well Gang I just got back December 9th to the 16th 1999

I had a surreal time

This resort can be described as a one-town get away resort. It should not be compared with Cancun or Acapulco.

Basically, this is a golfing resort or a relaxing resort.

As I went the first week of December 9th, the resort was only 50% full. The staff told me some weeks the resort gets party animals and some weeks early golf risers. This often affects the ambiance of the resort. I was allowed to switch rooms as many were empty.

And here are my ratings:

1. Hotel quality - Excellent quality - The hotel was very well run and the staff could not do enough for you. Particularly: The food was one of the best that I ever had at an all-inclusive resort. The specialty restaurants: Italian and Mexican were outstanding. The service was superb.

The staff went out of the way to make you feel comfortable. The
animation staff were always offering activities for you to do during the day.

As a veteran of 5 all-inclusives I was pleased with the hotel. The hot showers worked. And you had nmore towels then you needed.

Also, the staff were very generous with the premium licqour.

2. Golfing - I was told a good course. Not too crowded. One can get a caddy for $25 US I think - but this was not required. There is a free shuttle bus every half hour to the course.

3. Scenic - The hotel is in a lovely mountainous / desert region.

4. Scuba diving - A nice selection of dives. The water is plankton rich and supports a diverse marine life.

5. Loreto - a charming little town with no substantial poverty. One could walk through the town in 15 minutes. There was no significant shopping to mention. One historic church. One had to rent a cab $9 one way to reach the town or join an escorted tour to get to the town. Apparently there is one excellent seafood restaurant.

6. Beach - Rather basic. A brown pebbly sand beach. (OK: I've seen substantially better). The hotel swimming pools were quite well kept up.

7. temperature. During the day it reached at most 78Farenheit. During the night it dipped top 62F. This was in December. But happily there was no rain.

8. There is a secluded area for clothing optional sunbathing and the hot tub was clothing optional also. The bar service at the clothing optional hotel leaves when you leave and is particularly noteworthy.

9. Other water sports- The deep sea fishing and availability of water sports like kayaking is another added bonus to this resort.

PS At any of the bars, ask to try a "Cookaracha": a warm shot of a few licqours that packs quite a blast.

This resort is a surreal restful vacation. If you need to refocus your vibes in the desert, and escape a stressful existence: this is the place to go.

Please feel free to e-mail me with any questions
