Rainy Season in Mexico?

Can someone give me details about when the rainy season is and what areas it affects? Thanks!

West Coast resort areas August and September are particularly hot, humid, and with some rain. But any time in summer months can be rainy. I'm thinking specifically of Puerto Vallarta. Although I'm sure others along the coast would be similar. Can't speak to the rest of the country!

Mexico City, Cuernavaca, and Oaxaca City areas late May through mid July more or less. Cuernavaca I think it was in 95 was the only time it was so intense that is was a bother. The locals said it was very unusual but we got caught in flash flooding that was really scary. Anyway most of the time it gets the pollution out of the air and cools things off. In fact I would rather be in Oaxaca in June when it is raining as opposed to later on in the summer.

So would you say we are talking a 50/50 chance of rain on a given day in PV in June? Do you think we'll be able to enjoy some sun? Thanks!

In PV for sure unless you have a really rainy year.

Normally, and I repeat Normally, it will rain for about 2 hours - very heavy with thunder and lightning - in the late afternoon, into the evening or sometimes in the middle of the night. It hardly ever lasts long unless there is a weather system of the coast.
