Rain Ponchos for Bsoque del Cabo?
 

I think that it must be that last minute hurry-scurry but I have been thinking that we might need rain pochos. Do we need rain ponchos? We are just going to be at BdC and the Iguana Lodge.

I wouldn't think so. When you are in the forest, the trees serve as a nice umbrella! On the other hand, some of them pack really small, I know. We just never take them at all, and in many, many trips have never thought, "Oh darn, wish we had a rain poncho!" That's just me. . .

I personally wouldn't bring ponchos, it's so humid & hot at BdC you're pretty much wet all the time anyways...a cool shower I think would feel fabulous on a long hike. BdC also provides umbrellas by each cabin incase you get caught in the rain.

Thank you both so much for the advice. I will skip the ponchos and cross that off my list.

We did use our $5. ponchos at Arenal Odservatory Lodge when cold rain moved in and I had to get to the waterfall before we left. Hadn't hiked there yet.
The La Fortuna area was rainy and cool at times during our two nights there third week of March.
I'd pack a light one for "just in case" while you are at Lost Iguana.
No way would we have been able to enjoy the hike without them that day. Others were wearing them also.

I misread Iguana Lodge as Lost Iguana!.

We always tuck a cheap poncho into our day pack. It is so small that we don't even notice it. I don't mind getting wet but a couple of times I have had to save the binocs and cameras. Even just a plastic bag that is big enough to cover your stuff would be okay, just don't leave it in the plastic very long because the humidity could cause problems. We have gone out with a lot of camera equipment at times and would not want it wet. We lost a good camera once in Drake Bay and don't want to do it again. I have a rain jacket that mushes up into a little bag that I hook to my belt when I know I am going to be in a rainy area which I am frequently down there. Otherwise, I don't bother to carry it. If you don't have the camera or anything else don't worry about it.

It should be pretty dry this time of year at Iguana and Bosque.

I took one of those $3 ponchos to BdC one time and ended up never using it and leaving it there. That said, I always trtavel now with my ll bean rain jacket. It's lightweight and can fold up into a tiny little pouch, yet enough to keep me warm on the plane and dry during rains (although even in May it rained only a couple, brief times).
