Quiet(er) Cancun lodging choices

We, a 60-something couple, are planning to add a few days in Cancun to a Caravan tour we will be taking next winter of Mexico's Colonial Cities. Do you have any suggestions for more peaceful lodging choices that offer beach locations, good views and a good night's sleep? Moderate pricing would be best.

We match you for age group.Take a look at Ambiance Villas. We liked it very much. It is at the quieter end of the hotel strip away from the noise, has a great beach and pool, very nice grounds and is surprisingly reasonable for Cancun. BTW, despite the name, it is a hotel.

I own condos on the Beach in a Residential Building in the Hotel Zone. It is very laid back. I get alot of snowbirds in the winter. Contact me if you'd like more information.

Thank you, Basingstoke2. Ambiance Villas sounds like the right choice for us. Checked out their website and the many good reviews and pictures on Tripadvisor. Will try to make reservations for our stay in March.

Have a great time - I hope that you will enjoy it as much as we did. We also went in March and the weather was perfect - we paid $125 for a huge one bedroom suite with a wide balcony extending its entire length. Be aware though that the buildings do not have elevators. Our suite was on the top floor (I believe it was 4 flights) but we did not find it a problem and it was worth the climb for the great view and extra quiet. We did not opt for the breakfast since it has a good sized, well equiped kitchen and a supermarket nearby.

Magnolia, For your info, last night I posted some photos of Ambiance Villas on this site. They should still be (7/1 -10:40 EST) in the top 50 posts.
