Question about Casa Andrea in Puerto Vallarta

I have read a lot about Casa Andrea and the website looks wonderful. I know this might sound like a silly question, but with the open air kitchen, isn't it pretty much a given that the "wildlife", cockroaches, little lizards, etc. end up in the apartment. I have traveled to Mexico often enough to know that this cannot be guaranteed that the little pests won't make their way in, but I have to admit, I don't look forward to waking up in the morning seeing lizards and cockroaches on my wall. Outside, fine; inside, not so fine. It has happend to me too many times in Mexico. Has anyone stayed here and have that be a problem? (and yes I realize they won't hurt me; but they still freak me out!) Thanks.

I stayed at Casa Andrea twice recently. Yes, you might see the little gecco(s) run on the wall (but this isn't due to the open air, I've had them in normal hotel rooms). And once a giant flying roach-looking bug did fly into the kitchen and fell behind the stove, when we had the lights on in the evening and were sitting around the kitchen table. We freaked out too (but got over it!).

I LOVE Casa Andrea's and it is *every* bit as fantastically beautiful as the photos on the website look. But the above is my honest answer to your specific question. Oh and you can close off between the kitchen and your bedroom with a door, so the bedroom would not be "open air" unless you chose it to be.

p.s. I never saw bugs/lizards in the morning, only after dark. But I did see gorgeous hummingbirds that hung out in a tree just outside our kitchen patio.

Thanks Suze for your reply. Mmmm, bugs and lizards only after dark. I think I'll just have to take shots of tequila!

I stayed at Casa Andrea last September and personally we didn't have any problems with wildlife. I remember one of the people staying there had some sort of cockroach thing in there bathroom but, that was all I heard. We kept our room open all the time. It's a great place to stay. We absolutely loved it.

Keep in mind that those geckos on the ceiling eat lots of insects.
