Queretero - a new favorite in Mexico

Rental car, roads and signage good to this gem of a city 3 hours n. of Mxco City. Stay at the Casa Marquesa to splurge, enjoy cafe life in beautiful park squares which are clean, green and leafy. Galleries, churches, flowers abound. Another two hours west is tiny Patzcuaro which feels like a Carmen stage set. Charming and easy to walk, we enjoyed dinner at Mistongo, right off the main square. In Morelia, take a long lunch at the posh Villa Montana and on the way into the airport be amazed at the architecture and luxery of the Reforma area of Mexico City. A great trip...and I forgot to mention the Hacienda de Cortez in Cuernavaca and the Posada de Tecopotzlan in Tepotzlan. Beautiful properties but not cheap.
