Spent Friday at Si Senor on Muertos enjoying the most excellent Calamari served by the delightful Susy of dual citizenship splitting her life between Winter in PV and summers working for the Seattle Mariners. A most delightful young lady. Chatting with others including the many Canadians there. Hope the last one leaving their snowy homeland remembered to turn the lights off! LOL
Surf a bit rough today but enjoyed watch the brave souls trying out the "water boots" some very talented and others not so much.
Not to put a damper on things but was told of a resident of a Birmingham Alabama who got drunk late in the night became belligerent having a fight with another guy the result of ending up dead after a emergency flight home. So sad It is only paradise if we behave ourselves!
My wife arrives on Monday and I am ready to see her! More later.

Stewbear, May I ask the source of your information? because there are a lot of stories flying around the net about this sad event, but so far no one seems to have real facts.

My wife arrived on Southwest yesterday after a smooth flight. So good to have her here. We ate Coconut Shrimp at Chez Elena before retiring to bed early.
All is well in my world!

Linda and I ate ar Trios last evening. Very nice even elegant with good service and excellent gourmand food, Caesar salad, Lin Shrimp pasta, I sea bass and a most delicious dessert of warn chocolate cake served with 2 flavors of ice cream. Lin had a margarita and white wine, I a ice tea along with bottled water. Total cost 1,017 pesos plus tip. About $55 US for this wonderful meal. Would of cost at least $120 or more at home.
This after a lunch at Si Senors of calamari (the best ever) , guacamole (made at your table) all served by the irrepressible Suzie. I may gain back that 10 pounds I lost before Lin arrived

After a day of shopping with my wife we had dinner at Repollo Rojo (The Red Cabbage) IMO PV's best restaurant. Actually got a cabbie who did not know the way to this most popular cafe. I however know the way. LOL
Lin had the steak Carmen which includes aside taste of Mole. I my normal first love Lola's Carnitas the best outside of Guerrero. We topped it off with a delicious fudge brownie ala mode. Hard to believe we attended her opening 24 years ago.
Today a trip to the dentist, not our favorite place but good work and far, far cheaper than in our home area.

By the way I have canceled the side trip to Manzanillo as We must close on our new house in Guanajuato which requires my wife's signature on the paperwork. It is a modest structure with 2 bedroom/2 bath but in a excellent area and does have a fireplace which is a must for this ole fart! LOL
So heading out on Monday after a great month here in PV.

Stew, is this a full-time place, or just part time and rental?

Our number 1 Grandson's birthday is a week from Sunday. When asked what he wanted it was a Skull Ring with glowing red eyes from PV. After a fruitless search we had one made. Sterling silver with ruby eyes for our soon to be 12 YO, which we picked up yesterday. Not my choice but he will love it.
Went last night to Linda's favorite guilty pleasure Pollo Feliz having Chicken with coleslaw, rice, beans plus chips/salsa, tortillas plus a beer for Lin and a coke for me. Total cost 225 pesos plus tip.
Tonight Cafe de Olla my fav.

Cafe de Olla was great. Lin a mango margarita I a ice tea. We shared some delicious onion soup followed by Linda's Mexican Plato and my Chicken Enchiladas. For deseret a different but excellent cheesecake al a mode. Total cost 525 pesos plus tip. Walked the Malacon extension to El Centro were we caught a cab back to our hotel. Unbelievable the driver had no idea where Los Cuatro Ventos, PV's second oldest hotel, is located! He finally fessed up he was new from Colima. I suggested he buy a mapa LOL. Watched a fabulous sunset with green flash included from El Nido our rooftop bar along with friends including the columnist of the local paper, Nice night

Unfortunately had to return home with a severe kidney infection so all else on hold. Still in the hospital after 3 weeks. Been nip and tuck for awhile but seem to have turned the corner. Best laid plans of mice and Men!

I am very sorry to hear about your health issues and that you are in the hospital!! Did you have to cut your Mexico trip short from what you'd planned?

Finally feeling almost normal although a bit slow on the uptake. Booked a room at The Eureka inn in Eureka, Ca mid June for the Worlds best Oyster fete in next door Arcata. The "Inn" was a regular for me in my working days but fell on hard times closing for a couple of years. It has now been completely remodeled returning to it's old glory. Eureka's Old Town is Next best place to Puerto Vallarta IMO.
