Purmamarca, Tilcara or Iruya????

Hey people, we are finishing with our plan trip. We were arguing and discussing for almost a week and we cant solve our differences. Now you come..., KIND PEOPLE BRING US SOME HELP!
We just have a week, 6 nights to spend in Argentina northern area..., we want to visit Salta main city and we cannot find out if we could visit with 3 nights available, Purmamarca, Tilcara and Iruya. You think that is possible??? Of these 3 places, which one is a "real must". Do we need to modified our schedule and take out some days in Cordoba or Cordoba is also a must..., We are so confuse as you may see.
Please send to us some light on this issue, it will be very appreciated.
By the way, my impatient husband cant stop asking: "żOn March can they watch a match in Boca Juniors stadium"?. He is a Tevez insupportable fun!!!!
Alison, desperate husband & friends.

Here I am to put some light in your doubts. three nights only for the northern area???

I would take at least two more days...

Purmamarca and the 7 colour Mountains, the Salt Flats and Tilcara are the must in Jujuy Province. And you need two days to see those places. You can skip Iruya, not because it were not worth to see, but because the roads are really bad and the driving could be more a torture than a pleasure. We are still in the rainy season ( by the weay it did not rain teh half of last year) and the storms in the mountains move a lot of sediments which are not removed in a portion of the road until "we never know".

Whatever you need to know from this area. Just amke the questions you consider necessary about driving time, places, hotels, restaurants... whatever...

I guess you didn't check the answers you had already received on TA...

Listen to Flinstones, who already posted a wonderful itinerary on TA for you as her TA name, Giena. She is a private guide and really knows what she's talking about.

She obeys all the forum rules and never advertises her services and is always forthcoming with lots of free and invaluable advice.

I visited the region myself and will repeat my other answer to you, that yes, three nights is great for the northern circuit.

you will love the trip. That is an amazing part of the world!!
