puerto vallarta hotel help

We are looking for a two bedroom suite (4 adult with 1 child) for two weeks in January. Has anyone any suggestions or any input on the Punta Arena Hotel?? Your assistance is appreciated.

Hi Lynn, yes I know the Punta Arena actually rather well. I like the hotel, it is sort of quiet, has a good location ( very near to the downtown area ), it is not directly on the beach, but has an access by a nice path to the beach, and it has a nice small swimming-pool and restaurant in the middle of the apartments. You should not expect luxury, but just clean, well maintained, comfortable and mexican-style 2-room apartments. Anyway, you can send me an e-mail if you would like to have more information, either on the hotel or for other recommendations in Puerto Vallarta.

Mary,
Since you live in Puerto Vallarta it seems you know quite a bit about the place! My family (2 adults, 2 children ages 15 and 11) have reservations at the La Jolla de Mismaloya for Dec. 18-22. This will be our first trip to PV. What do you recommend for fun for a family like ours? Thanks.
Michele, [email protected]

Hi, there are many great activities, I can recommend you to take a cruise to the Marieta Islands. Beautiful and a lot of fun as well. You might even see whales in December. The official season for whale watching starts on December 15, but they are around during the beginning of December and chances are best around the Marieta Islands. Another great thing to do is to take a Jeep-Safari into the jungle. Have a look at the following web-site :
http://www.royale-tours.com
You can reserve tours right there as well ( it is a good idea to reserve in advance ). If you book in advance you receive a discount of 10%.
There are many other nice activities. By the way, the Jolla de Mismaloya is beautiful ; you will have a great time!

I was in PV last November with my then 6-yr old son. My son still talks about the Paradise Village Resort. We both loved it. Its in Nuervo Vallarta, which is basically away from all--downtown is maybe a 20 minute ride. But the resort is wonderful, for all--kids, couples, singles, etc. Besides the Marriott--in the Marina area--this is the only resort I would stay in. And would go back in a minute.
