Puerto Vallarta--H20

I haven't been to Mexico in a long time, and will be visiting PV in about a week. We're staying at a nice resort but plan to eat/drink elsewhere (marina, downtown etc.)

What sort of precautions do we need to take regarding water? Is the water in a reputable resort ok? How about ice at the hotel and at restaurants/bars? Or frozen drinks?

Thanks for your help.

The ice at resorts, hotels, bars and restaurants around town is all delivered in bags by truck from the purified ice place. So ice and frozen drinks are just fine.

I drink bottled water myself, it's everywhere, often provided by the resort... but PV is known for having a clean water supply.

Hello sir, I have a sensitive stomach but I never had a problem in PV, and I drank the tap water. Now if you get ill don't blame me, lol, but seriously neither my late husband or I ever got ill in PV.

I too drink the tap water and I always stay in old town. I always ask for a glass of water in restaurants rather than bottled, never had a problem. Frozen margaritas are a PV trademark so I doubt you would have a problem with ice anywhere in PV. But if you are concerned, bottled water is cheap too.

Just got back, it was an amazing vacation. I drank only bottled water, but had lots of frozen drinks with ice, and brushed my teeth with PV water without a care in the world. No GI problems! Just thought I'd give an update.
