PuertaV-to cool for beach in Feb?

We don't want all beach but now are worried Puerta Vallerta could be to cool for some beach days in mid-February. Weather underground makes it appear you could have a week of 60's. Does it ever rain in Feb.? Thanks to anyone who knows.

I've only been there once in February, but it was plenty hot and sunny every day :)

We are there yearly during that time and the weather is warm. It has never rained on us during Jan/feb/March. Certainly warm enough for the beach because there are many in swimwear sitting on the beach and many go in the water. Away from the breezy beach is actually hot!

We were there last February and the weather was fantastic. Low 80's felt much warmer and not a cloud in the sky. The city was a little hazy. It cooled off at night, which was very nice. Rain is almost non-existent that time of year.

Hi Patrick, unless the weather has changed (I haven't been to PV for awhile) February is the month we chose for being in PV. Not cold or cool but not unbearable heat. And never had rain. Never even wore a sweater in the late evenings.

That's just wrong!!!

I go to Puerto Vallarta often. Weather from late November thru April is almost always high 70's to low 80's degree F. mostly hot and sunny most days. Rain could come on occasion, but is not common that time of year. Sometimes it's overcast in the morning, then burns off. Or clouds up end of day.

I've been to PV ~17 times for 10-14 days each trip over the past decade or so. I've been in rain maybe 5 days total in all those trips.

(sorry I meant my first sentence in a laughing, happy way... not to sound so angry -lol!)

Normally it's decent but I have been in January/February when a serape was needed to sit on the beach comfortably. Always take some sort of wrap for evenings but normally with a few exceptions days are good.

I too agree It is very unusual to have rain in Feb Don't worry about being too cool maybe at night might need something like stewbear stated so go and enjoy yourself I was there in Feb last yr and it was fine

My experience is different than Stewbear, I have never once ever in any month of the year in PV had to wear a serape(!) to sit on the beach mid-day. A few times (over dozens of years) I have worn a light sweater very very early in the mornings.

The only time I ever needed a wrap at any time in PV was inside in the air-conditioning. On our February trips we used to have to take a siesta to get out of the sun for a few hours!

Thank you all for your replies. Unfortunately we could not get our frequent flyer tickets to PV for next February even though I called the first day you could book a round trip from Boston. We did get a free ticket to Mexico City returning from Leon so we will do that next Feb. and plan on PV for the following year.

Wish I could remember the year but was maybe 1988 or 89. As I said not normal but it was so cold that the serape salesman cleaned up. Now that I recall I believe it was the same year Hawaii was super cold with a few snow flakes on mountain tops. I must say that often at El Nido in January/February a top Los Cuartro Vientos a cover up feels good at sunset when that wind reverses. Right now I am high in the Sierra Madre at Morelia where we are having a heat wave. Almost 80 today with a late PM Thunderstorm. Normally about 65 this time of the year so you never know for sure.

Stewbear, I believe you but can't get the vision of a person sitting on a hot beach with a serape over 'em out of my head -lol!

And you will have to admit it is much more likely to be nice and warm mid-February than the weather you encountered once, a couple decades ago, right?
