My Husband and I are considering a trip to Puerto Vallarta this year. We could use a little help....

Is late September/early October a good time weather-wise to travel there?

Has anyone stayed at the Villa Amor? It looks beautiful on the website but I can't find any real reviews.

End of September/early October is the end of the rainy season in Puerto Vallarta so you may have some late afternoon rain. I have gone to Puerto Vallarta several times in early October and the weather has been great. The high season doesn't begin until November so you will find that some restaurants are still closed but there will be plenty of nice places to dine. Sorry, can't help with Villa Amor but I'm sure others will have info.

Typically the rain stops in the middle of Oct. But this year the weather has been far from 'typical' but still a good time, after the rainy season everything is so lush!

Villa Amor is actually located in Sayulita, north of PV about 2 hours. I only found one review on tripadvisor.com. Sayulita is a small village with a nice beach and several restaurants, but the sidewalks roll up pretty early. If you're looking for peace and quiet and a rustic outdoorsy type of lodging, it may be for you. I'll second the above posts regarding the weather.

I love Puerto Vallarta but have never been to Sayulita. They are two *very* different kinds of places. Depends on what you are looking for... If you enjoy a choice of hundreds of restaurants, activities, shopping, mix of tourists and locals, then PV might be more to your liking. If you want a sleepy town and quiet beach life maybe Sayulita is a better fit.
