Pros and Cons of Paraiso vs Lost Iguna?

I'm trying to decide which Hotel to book and I've read good things about them both. Is the Paraiso in a better location ?? Iguana too far away ?? Please give me some feedback(we do have a car). TIA

Sorry I misspelled Iguana in my question and I should have mentioned this is for Arenal(Costa Rica).

Paraiso is much closer to town than Iguana. We stayed at the Iguana about a week ago and were very pleased. Iguana is about 15 min from La Fortuna. We had massages @ Paraiso and they were great. Iguana is a bit farther out so you may have a different view of the volcano. We saw a little bit of lava otherwise, it was raining/cloudy.

Hope this helps!

We stayed at the Paraiso which was very nice and a good deal for the money since our room was around $95.00 a night. We stopped at the Lost Iguana for a drink since it is right next to the entrance of the Hanging Bridges and I loved it !! If I ever return to the Arenal area, I would definitely stay at the Lost Iguana. I saw some of the rooms which were great & more upscale than Paraiso but also more expensive. I just liked the vibe at Lost Iguana....smaller, music at the pool/bar area, beautifully landscaped and it seems like you are in a more remote, jungle-like area with less activity, tour buses, etc. It seemed like it took us about 10 minutes to drive to the Hanging Bridges from the Paraiso, but we had a car and the road is great. I don't think it would be far away from anything since you are driving. We never went into La Fortuna since we were only there 2 days and had plenty to do around the volcano area. Can't comment on the volcano view because it was cloudy and overcast the whole time we were there.

Just came back from Paraiso. While I enjoyed it, I'd vote on Lost Iguana. Lost Iguana is 10 minutes further up the road from Paraiso, and so a little further from La Fortuna (where the restaurants are). However, taxi drivers can be called by the hotels and are happy to come up to pick anyone up. It might be a $10-15 round trip. Iguana is right next to Hanging Bridges, which we enjoyed (pay $20.00 extra for a guide!!!) They see everything you won't. Iguana is more remote but I wasn't totally impressed with Paraiso. I just noticed you have a car... your all set then, Iguana only extra 10 minutes on easy road.
