Private Drive from Airport-Peace Lodge-Arenal

Hi - I'd like to book a taxi or private driver from the Airport to the Peace Lodge and then to Arenal (not all in the same day ofcourse).

I have read it should be about $40-$50 from the airport to Peace Lodge. And about $60-$70 to Arenal.

Can you guys please provide names, numbers, emails so I can contact them. I dont know how to even find reliable drivers. Would I have to pre-pay? Please Help!

I used a great driver from Peace Lodge to the the airport this past May. You can contact Alberto Artavia & his assistant Carlos at 011-506-387-6875 or 861-7209. His email is [email protected] I just paid them when we arrived at the airport. I don't know how much from PL to Arenal but I'm sure they can tell you.

luv, we went to the Peace Lodge in July, and we just arranged a driver through them. If you don't have a specific driver in mind, they're happy to provide one. We just set it all up when we made our reservations; we paid about $50 to go from SJO to the Lodge. We've always had good luck just booking through our hotels.

Thank you both. I will definitely write to alberto and see what his rates are. I would feel more comfortable not paying until I get there incase they dont show up, etc.

Any other recommendations?

oh, one more thing - so for a $50 rate, can you ask the driver to make stops along the way? We wanted to stop at POAS volcano. Or would that me asking for too much?

Yes, it will be more, by how much I don't know. It'd probably add an extra 2 hours to your trip. I'd ask for a quote with & without the stop.

Yep, I agree with Tully. Poas is not on the way, so it would probably add on to the cost of your ride. The best time to see Poas is early in the morning before it gets socked in by fog - not sure what time you'd be coming in, but you could always go see it the morning after you arrive.

Thanks for the replies. Ok that makes sense - I will look into trying to squeeze in POAS the next day.
