priceline for mexico city

Has anyone used priceline recently for Mexico City - if so, what have you gotten (esp in the 4 star range)?
Thanks!

We used it last summer. As usual, we got the JW Marriott and the Maria Isabella Sheraton. Each of these hotels has things to recommend it, but I like the JW mych better.

the jw marriott seems quite nice, but i'm not so into the sheraton. which seems to pop up more frequently nowadays and is there any logic as to which you get depending on your bid, time of year, etc? i.e. am i better off putting in a slightly higher bid if that means more likely to get the jw?

I have used Priceline a lot, Hotwire a little, but neither for Mexico City. In any event, I'd suggest looking at Hotwire, because it's often possible to narrow down the possible hotels, or at least exclude possibilities, by using Hotwire. Take a look at betterbidding.com if you do want to use Hotwire.

As for your other question, about putting in a higher bid value, the most likely thing that will happen is that you will overbid for the hotel you don't want. Read the FAQs at BetterBidding.com and BiddingForTravel.com .
