Plinio Jungle House --Tulemar Bungalows--rafting in SanJose??

I am going on Honeymoon to Manuel Antonio
We are staying at Grano de Oro in San Jose for the first night "Vista Suite" then will
proceed to the Plinio Hotel---Jungle House for 2 nights, then Tulemar bungalows for 4
nights ending with 2 more nights in Grano de Oro-Standard Room..during those last two days we will be white water rafting in San Jose... Does anyone have any thoughts on any of these places or rafting??
Thanx
Brian

Brian, 3 years ago we stayed at the Grano de Oro (standard) for 2 nights and really enjoyed the stay. The restaurant was wonderful was so great, we ate most of our meals there! They served a wonderful pineapple carved out and heaped with fresh fruit of all kinds for $2.50 US (probably higher now). The Grano de Oro is one of the 7 great small Inns in CR. We did some rafting on the Reventazon River and loved it (we are in our 60's). Happy honeymooning--it's a wonderful country. Jo Ann

I've heard great things from people who stayed at Tulemar Bungalows and Grano de Oro. Please post a trip report when you get back!

We stayed at both Tulemar and Grano de oro. Both very good choices!. The Tulemar is selling off its land for luxury house development, however, so you may want to enquire about construction there. We saw more wildlife there than the Manuel park! Grano was like a relaxing escape from disgusting, noisy, smoggy San Jose, people working at both places were supurb. I would definately return to both.

Hi Brian -

I stayed at hotel Plinio but in a cheap room. We got what we paid for, but i think your private room will be nice; i think thats where friends of ours stayed last year and loved it. our room was just a little mildewy. the hotel itself is great; feels like you're in a treehouse!! lovely restaurant with good food, nice pool area.

also, we went rafting on the Pacuare. I was terrified the night before we went, but had a blast once we were there. we went in may at the beginning of the rainy season so it may be rougher now but it is quite safe really as long as you follow their instructions.

Have fun!!
