We don't like huge hotels. Looking for recommendations for a smaller property (maybe up to 100 rooms), on the beach, either Mayan Riviera or Pacific coast. (Not interested in Cancun, Mazatlan, or anyplace totally touristy). Thanks.

If I didn't have kids, I'd go for Maroma, south of Cancun. I think its quite expensive, but I know that luxurylink does auction rooms off for it on occasion, at good savings. I haven't been there, but travel channel calls it the worlds best beach, and I'd sure love to go...
