The new road, Hwy. 27 is closed in certain areas due to landslides and is not supposed to open for awhile... If you are in the country for only a short time, it is best to stay in 1 area rather than spending your time driving to get from one place to the other before dark and/or rain at this time of year.

I am doing a similiar itinerary with 9 year old - also stuck flying in/out of Liberia with miles and have to do the long drive. We are also staying at Los Logos and Costa Verde in MA. Would love to know how the drive turns out, the route and how many hours from MA to Liberia.

I believe we stayed at the same condo close to Mariposa in April. It was a wonderful place to stay and we felt very secure. The only intruders were monkeys on our patio. Restaurants are within walking distance and so is the beach (but most days we elected to drive there). Driving and parking did not seem to be a huge issue in Manuel Antonio when we were there.

Kbrennan - Now I am looking again, and it looks like this VRBO is next door to the hotel Manuel-Antonio. I thought is was next door to Mariposa. I looked at so many VRBO listings I suppose I got them mixed up. I wonder if this is a good area... We are going to be there on July 5.
