Playa del Carmen OR Isla Mujeres -- Where should we go?
 

Thinking of a vacation to Playa del Carmen or Isla Mujeres OR any other place around that area. Looking for peace and quiet(but not too remote), FISHING (a must), snorkeling, walking distance to town and restaurants, white sand, and nice accommodations on a teacher's budget. SUGGESTIONS?

Isla de Mujeres is very quiet - a backpackers retreat and inexpensive. Not too many things to do.

Playa Del Carmen is much nicer than Cancun is slightly more expensive than Isla de Mujeres has lots more things to do and is also slightly inundated with partying hippies - although not too loud.
