4 Moms with 4 teen daughters travelling to Playa del Carmen mid-August. Any recommendations for houses or condos that could sleep 8, air conditioned, and close to the beach? Or--hotels on the beach that are not too crowded, with nice atmosphere, maybe close to water sports.

I recommend the Gala Playacar Resort in Playa del Carmen. This is an all inclusive resort that is chock full of activities. They offer beach and pool activities all day long. There is pool aerobics that is a blast. Young handsome directors that make the workout more of a meet and greet than anything else. depending on the ages of your girls, there is a "teen club" in a hut that has foosball, pool table, ping -pong and is just to hang out at. The evening entertainment is a little wacky and a bit over the top sexual, but typical for south americans and europeans. However the resort is so safe that you can let the girls go wherever they like and not have a moment of worry. There is even an on site disco, so there is plenty to do day and night. No matter what your age, the Gala is great fun.

we honeymooned in Playa del Carmen at "The Barcelo Maya Beach Resort" it was amazing, ask you travel agent for deatils on the resort.
