considering they are both next to the water, I would say they are humid all the time.

here's a report on Playa from march 15, 08:

Moisture:
Dew Point 72 °F / 22 °C
Average Humidity 79
Maximum Humidity 94
Minimum Humidity 55

Playa in March is not particularly humid. The weather is usually warm (mid eighties in the day) but the breezes off the Caribbean Sea tend to keep things from getting too hot or humid. Our really humid weather is in the rainy/huricanne season of June 1st through Dec. 1st. August through October is generally the worst.

How's your weather right now? We have reservations for Sept. 5-9, but have been concerned about Gustav passing by.

I think it also depends a lot on where you're coming from. If you're like I am and coming in from the frozen midwest in March, I find it feels very humid. Of course it's parchingly dry in our midwest winters so the first blast of tropical heat feels just like the tropics to me.
