Playa del Carmen Condo Resorts

Can anyone tell me what the differences are between El Taj, Porto Playa and Maya Villa in Playa del Carmen? They seem to be run by the same property management company and have many similarities, yet the rates are very different. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi from Playa del Carmen,
You are correct, the properties are all run by the same company. El Taj is the flagship and the highest priced, Porto Playa is the next level being one block off the beach with a big pool and roughly 15-20% less in price. Maya Villa is roughly 10-15% less than Porto Playa mostly due to the size of the units and pool. They all share the same amenities; free beach club access @Indigo Beach Club, free fitness center access @ The Gym, Maya Spa, Imprevist restaurant and La Sirena restaurant.

Thank you, Kenneth. Clearest explanation that I have heard so far! I'm trying to figure out why Maya Village is ranked so much higher than Porto Playa on TA. Any ideas?

The "rankings" on TA are irrelevant, I don't know why you care what they are. TA makes them up, so what, they have some private algorithm.
