Playa del Carmen Beachfront Hotels

I've got my list of hotels down to just a few, and am looking for feedback on each:

1. Hotel Costa del Mar: rates and comments.
2. Albatros Royale Hotel: rates and comments.
3. Blue Parrot Inn: comments please.
4. Pelicano Inn: comments please.
5. Hotel Molcas: comments please.
6. Hotel Alejari: Any info...all info.

Also, any others? I'm looking for beachfront, in town, queen size bed (most seem to be double beds), and possibly with bar/restaurant on site.

Thanks in advance...

I am also looking for information on hotels and
resorts in the PDC area for a honeymoon this fall.
I have found that the following website has an excellent
bulletin board regarding the area: http://206.181.239.195/scripts/net.t...&lastread%3D10
fige it a try, it may be worthwile for you.

I didn't actually stay at the Blue Parrot but I spent a great deal of time at their beach bar. It gets pretty crowded there some nights so if you're looking for quiet it may not be the place to go.

Have fun!

Las Palapas is about l mile outside of town, it's wonderful. Your breakfast and dinner are included in the price which is very reasonable. From the beach you could walk to town. Recommend reservations way in advance. Don't think you will be disappointed. Have fun!!!!!!

Stayed at Costa del Mar in June of 95 with my husband and 2 kids - at that time rates were $53 for double room (double beds) and AC. The beach is great. No TV. Small pool. This is a motel-type spot but is very nice, and is right next to Blue Parrot Inn. We checked that place out, was more expensive and some rooms were much further off the beach. Costa del Mar has a restaurant and a bar and a good location, out of the downtown, but close enough to walk to easily. Try eating at Restaurant Gabi's, an Italian place a block or two east of Costa Del Mar.
