Got to make a decision...but now I am leaning towards the Iberostar Parasio Maya. A bit more upscale than the Tucan/Quetzal, and seems to have more personality than some of the other modern americanized resorts.
Anyone have any feedback on this resort? And if booking through Mr. Iberostar, does one get the same service as through a private travel agent? Thanks all, this has been very helpful! |
The IB Maya is a great resort with lots to keeps you busy. It is quite a bit more upscale than the Tucan.
Also check prices for the IB Lindo which shares all facilities with the Maya except for two restaurants that are for Maya guests only. They are the gourmet and the Japanese, but the Lindo has its own gourmet restaurant and Lindo gueswts use the Japanese restaurant at the IB Beach right next door. The Lindo usually prices out lower than the Maya. Both the Lindo and Maya have a concierge in each building to nmake your dinner reservatons and you can eat at an ala carte restaurant every night of your stay. It doesn't matter who you use to book the resort, you get the same service and privileges. Check out Apple Vacations prices for them also. |
locogringo is good for info south of PDC and focuses on the Akumal area.
www.playa.info and www.intheroo.com are centered in PDC and have info on that area. |
